Read Aloud
This week the read aloud was A Band of Coyotes, by Mabel Canton Elementary School. This was a unique book because the story and illustrations are all done by students. The books main purpose was to teach about collective nouns. However, this book also taught about rhyming, numbers, and animals. I would use this book in lessons for first grade students.
Learning Experience
This week our class went to the library for a lesson from Mrs. Stout the librarian. She taught us about banned books, and why parents don't want their kids exposed to certain books. Some of the banned books I agreed with, however some I didn't. I learned that there can be many different reasons why books shouldn't be allowed in school, and to always be careful in school reading selections!
Quote Of The Week
"Learning how to learn is life's important skill"- Anonymous. This quote means to me that learning and gaining knowledge doesn't come easily to some people. You have to learn it. In order to learn it you must know how to grasp the knowledge. Therefore you have to learn how to learn, and learning is the most important thing in life.
Current Event

This article deals with school safety. Trained police officers are being discussed and put to use in some schools for the protection of students. Especially after the Connecticut shooting, safety measures should defiantly be taken.
Observations
This week i observed one of my teachers teaching styles. He is always nice and he makes sure every student understands the concept that is being taught. Even when kids start to act up, he is still nice and tells them to settle down. Everyone listened immediately because of the respect everyone has for one of the nicest teachers!
Reflections
This week was short and I had parties in almost all of my classes! I hope break is good for everyone!
I want you to reflect more on the articles. How do you feel about it? Happy New Year!
