This weeks read aloud was It's Not Easy Being a Bunny by Marilyn Sadler. it was about a bunny who was convinced that being any other animal was better then being a bunny. He tested his theory but in the end came to realize that being himself was the best. I would read this book to a kindergarten class. It teaches kids to have high self esteem. This book could also be used for a science lesson because of all the different animals and their habitats it talks about.
Learning Experience
This week our class did an auction activity. We all had the chance to bid on items that were important to us. It taught us that everyone has different goals, some materialistic, some not. I learned about myself that something that is important in life to me is a happy marriage. I think that being happy is something that is very importnt because without happiness life my not be a positive place.

This article has to deal with a school in Tuscan, Arizona. They are trying to desegregate its school so that Latinos and African Americans have equal opportunities. Some study programs are banned wich people want to have back to have a better school experience. These people are fighting for desegregation and have a hearing on December 10th.
Quote of the week
"There are many things which we can afford to forget which is yet well to learn."- Oliver Wendell Holmes Jr. This quote means to be that information we may think is unless and has no effect if it is easily forgotten, may have many things to learn from. We may think that nothing can be benefited from a certain piece of information, however in the future we may be able to learn from it.
Observations
This week I observed a kindergarten class at Ocean Ave Elementary School. I was so happy and excited because kindergarten is the grade that I want to teach. I learned how this particular teacher handles interruptions and how she helped the students. I also observed her interactions with the students. The kids followed rules which the teacher gave out. I really enjoyed observing and learning from this class.
Reflections
This week I learned about what matters in life to people. I also learned many things on my own from observing the kindergarten class. From my fellow students I learned from their presentations on death and grief, and on depression. I learned how to help kids cope with these issues. This was a successful week.
The article is interesting. You would assume all schools were desegregated by now. I think it is great that they are taking the initiative to fight for something that they believe in. I think your going to love kindergarten and it is going to suit you well. Just remember to keep your options open to every aspect of education.
