Week 9

Read Aloud
There was no read aloud this week.

Learning Experience
This week was a short week but Kayla and Lauren presented their project. From their presentation, I learned how to help kids cope with death and grief. They gave ways that helps kids understand and overcome this kind of sadness.

Current event
This article talks about how in this area the number of teachers are being reduced however the number of students in classrooms are increasing. Due to this increase the classrooms have blended learning. Students at all different learning abilities are put in the same classroom. I disagree with this because I think that if someone needs extra help, they should most certainly get it.

Quote of the week
"The more that you read, the more things you will know. The more you learn, the more places you'll go"- Dr. Seuss. This quote means to me that the more books you read, the more information you will pick up and in result the more things you can do in your life. In my childhood I read all the time. I read so much that teachers even noticed that my grammar and spelling improved as the year progressed. Therefore this quote overall means that reading helps you with attaining information, and using the information throughout life.

Observations
This week had a lot of events taking place for me. For cheerleading we had to do many things in order to prepare for the North vs. South Homecoming game. We were very behind in our routine. Therefore our coaches stepped up and helped us finish our routine and had us practice it until w pulled it all together. I was very grateful for that because hundreds of people come to this game and I wanted to make sure that we didn’t mess up. The team didn’t really listen to the captains but when the coaches enforce the captains rules the rest of the teams listened and our routine came out good. I observed that if kids need help in something even if they are in charge, it is okay for the teacher or coach to help out and reinforce things.

Reflections
This was a short week with only one class however we go time to work on our projects which I am grateful for. We also made decorations for the hallway contest. This was a short week but we got something’s done!

  1. Just remember that reading and more reading can help students with their writing and comprehension. Infusing class with all different levels is something all school are trying to do. They want the teacher to be special ed certified so they can modify the lessons. That is some food for thought (maybe minor in special ed).
